Terry and Rebecca Moore were a typical young family well on their way to the American Dream when fate intervened and stole their hopes for the future.
Rebecca was going to school to be a teacher and Terry staying at home with their two kids during the week and working on the weekends, until six years ago when Rebecca became ill with uncontrollable seizures. She was pregnant with their third child and doctors told her that she would not be able to continue working. It was devastating news, her hopes of a career in education ended and she became a stay at home mom while Terry set about to support his family single-handedly. They did their best to manage, but there were times Terry had to stay home with Rebecca and their kids causing him to lose jobs.
With limited resources they set about raising their growing family in the tight quarters of a two bedroom rental house. In July of 2005 hope once again reentered their lives as Terry and Rebecca joined in partnership with Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity to secure a decent and affordable home, providing a solid foundation for the future of their children.
Rebecca now home schools their three older children; Katymae (9), Tylor (7) and Bailey (6), while caring for the family’s newest member two month old Elijah. Terry maintains the couple’s love of children through his full time work at Child Time Day Care.
